• Listen to Bat Echolocations: The EMT2 translates bat echolocations into frequencies audible to humans using two technologies. The Wildlife Acoustics' patented Real Time Expansion (RTE) preserves the original timing and tonality of the echolocations, providing an authentic listening experience. Additionally, Heterodyne (HET) listening, with manual and automatic tuning options, is available for those who prefer this method.
• View Echolocations on a Spectrogram: A real-time spectrogram displays the frequencies and timing of the echolocations. Users can scroll back in time and zoom in on previous "bat passes."
• Identify Bat Species in Real-Time: The Auto ID feature analyzes echolocation calls and suggests the two most likely bat species matches in real-time. While this technology can identify a significant number of species in different regions, it should not be solely relied upon for scientific research purposes.
• Record Bat Passes: Activate triggered recording mode to automatically save bat passes as full spectrum .wav files for later analysis on a computer. Users can also manually control the start and stop of recording in manual record mode. The app provides visual representation and allows the addition of voice or text notes to the recording.
• Track Path and Recording Locations: The app offers satellite or road map view, displaying identified species codes directly on the map. Users can easily access the recording's spectrogram from the map view and transfer data to their computer for viewing in Google Earth.
• Transfer Recordings Easily: The EMT2 allows users to transfer .wav recordings to their computer via Wi-Fi network or iTunes. With Wi-Fi transfer, recordings are bundled into a .zip folder that can be downloaded through any web browser using a designated URL.
• Effortless Sharing: Users can easily share recordings via email or MMS messaging and import and open files that have been shared with them.

Please note that while Auto ID is largely accurate, it is not infallible due to the varied nature of bat echolocation calls. It is intended for analyzing recordings of single bats in low clutter environments during free flight, and may not provide accurate results for other scenarios such as roost emergence, multiple or captive bats, bats in high clutter environments, or bat social calls. Additionally, the covered regions may not include every possible bat species.
